Jellow Plus Communicator is an innovative Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system specifically designed for adults facing challenges with speech and language. This user-friendly platform utilizes icons and images to facilitate communication, enabling non-verbal individuals to construct phrases and sentences as they work towards improved verbal expression. It is particularly beneficial for those with conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down syndrome.

This application builds upon the foundation established by Jellow Basic, incorporating all of its features while expanding the library of available resources. Jellow Plus retains the expressive buttons from the Emotional Language Protocol (ELP) utilized in the basic version, thereby ensuring a seamless transition for users as they mature and develop their communication skills.

Tailored for adult users, Jellow Plus allows the formulation of commonly used words, phrases, and sentences that reflect daily life scenarios. Its extensive library contains approximately 5000 icons, carefully curated based on user feedback, and categorized by parts of speech such as verbs, adverbs, adjectives, and nouns. This organization greatly simplifies the sentence formation process.

In addition, the application features a 'keyboard' function that affords users the ability to generate new sentences and have them spoken aloud through the app. The current version supports English with multiple accents including Indian, American, British, Australian, and Nigerian, with plans for additional language options in future updates.

Jellow Plus has been developed with collaborative input from the IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay, UNICEF, various ministries, and healthcare institutions. The design process has been iterative, heavily influenced by feedback from a diverse group of stakeholders including children, parents, therapists, teachers, and caregivers.
